Robert Owens is a Regional Field Director for the John Birch Society, a writer for The New American Magazine and host of the weekly video series “Constitution Corner”. As a Regional Field Director, Robert has direct responsibility for Ohio, Michigan and Western Pennsylvania and manages all field staff over 17 states in the Mid-West Division. Robert has been a member of JBS for more than 20 years and served on the National Council for a decade. Prior to joining the field staff, Robert was a trial lawyer. In more than two decades as a practicing lawyer, Robert served as a clerk for a Federal Judge, was an associate in one of the largest law firms in Columbus, Ohio, served as a prosecutor in Delaware County, Ohio and operated a private practice – always refusing any government money or contracts as taking such money was viewed by him as a conflict of interest to his private citizen clients. While in private practice, Robert won two cases in the Ohio Supreme Court on election integrity issues. Robert is an alumnus of Ohio Wesleyan University, Oxford University and Capital University Law School. Robert’s studies focused on European military history & American Political History, with specific emphasis on leadership and communication strategies and tactics. Robert’s recently featured articles, videos and on air interviews providing the step by step process to exercise a religious exemption and how to deal with the push back have reached millions of readers, viewers and listeners nationwide.
